Todays United States soybean industry is comparable to the impression an observer would have of the Mississippi River as it passes Saint Louis, Missouri, headquarters of the American Soybean Association. There, the river is an awesome natural display, owing to the strength of its current and its great width. But like the mighty river, which at its origin is only an insignificant trickle, the soybean industry had a quiet beginning. |
