leadership training, media interviews, the legislative process, leadership

New Board Member Orientation is designed to build a new ASA
board member’s understanding of his/her role and responsibilities as a
national board member; to familiarize new board members with important
information about ASA and its policies, programs and procedures; to give new
board members an opportunity to meet key staff and to connect them with a
mentor.
Soybean Leadership College develops growers who are just beginning
their leadership roles on state boards or upcoming leaders with a focus on
leadership training, communications, membership and policy issues.

State Board Member Training provides a customized education
program that develops essential skills needed to work productively as a

State Leader Summit provides state association presidents an
opportunity to meet with the ASA Executive Committee members to share
insights and align thinking and approach on priority issues. In 2010, State
Presidents and the ASA Executive Committee will open the afternoon session
to State Association Executives and QSSB Chairmen.

Young Leader Program is an entry level, two-part program designed to
identify, train and cultivate soybean growers interested in pursuing
leadership positions within the soybean industry. Spouses are included in
all aspects of the program. Actual age is not a factor. The program is set
up for those looking to develop skills to take on a future position.
