| No purchase necessary
to participate in this contest. Membership in the American Soybean
Association, or a previous purchase of John Deere equipment or
parts, is not required, and does not increase or decrease your
likelihood of being selected as a winner. This is not a game
of chance: Winners will be selected based on qualification criteria
established at the sole discretion of the American Soybean
Association and John Deere Ag Management Solutions, whose intentions
are to select a diverse demographic cross-section of U.S. soybean
farmers. Decisions of the American Soybean Association and John
Deere Ag Management Solutions are final. You must be 18 years of age
or older at date of entry, and actively engaged in production
agriculture to participate in this contest.
To participate in this contest, you
must be bona fide soybean grower who owns or rents farm acreage
within one or more of the following U.S. soybean production states:
Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana,

Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, N. Carolina,
N. Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, S. Carolina, S. Dakota,
Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, W. Virginia or Wisconsin. To qualify as
a bona fide soybean grower, 20 percent or more of your net taxable
income for each of the last three years must have been derived from
the sale of soybeans harvested from land you rent or own, and you
must have been directly involved in the farming or farm management
of this acreage.
To participate in this contest,
growers must complete an online Contest Registration Form that is
available at
www.SoyGrowers.com/pa/ no later than
February 16, 2007.
Entries received by telephone, fax,
courier or personal delivery will not be accepted. Entries received
late, incomplete, or that do not conform to the Official Contest
Rules may be disqualified. Providing false or misleading information
justifies disqualification. Only one entry per person, household or
farm enterprise. Contest is subject to the laws of the State of Iowa
and the United States of America as may be applicable.
The "Reach for the Stars" contest
will allow 15 selected growers to use on their farm in a U.S.
soybean production state a premium level John Deere precision ag
system, each with a suggested retail price of more than $20,000, for
the entire 2007 U.S. growing season. Use of this equipment was
provided to the American Soybean Association by John Deere Ag
Management Solutions to help educate producers about precision ag
systems.
The prize package for this "Reach
for the Stars" contest includes the use of a GreenStarTM
AutoTracTM Assisted Steering System with an AutoTrac
Universal Steering Kit, a StarFireTM iTC receiver, and a
John Deere SF2 signal activation; a GreenStarTM 2 System,
which includes a GreenStar Display 2600 and preloaded GreenStar
Basics software; and GreenStar Apex Farm Management Software.
After the program ends, or December
31, 2007, whichever comes first, qualified participants will be
offered an opportunity to purchase the entire system, or just the
components they want to own, at an average price that is
approximately 50 percent off the manufacturer’s suggested retail
price.
In order to qualify for the
discounted purchase option, winners must participate in two (2)
online surveys—one during June 2007 and one during November 2007—to
provide feedback about their experiences with this new technology,
and participate in one regional grower education meeting if one is
offered near their home or farm during either July 2007 or January
2008.
Prize package must be accepted as
awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned or redeemed for cash.
John Deere Ag Marketing Solutions reserves the right to substitute a
prize of equal or greater value if the described prize cannot be
awarded for any reason.
Winners must grant permission for
the American Soybean Association and/or John Deere to utilize their
online survey answers for educational purposes designed to encourage
adoption of precision ag management tools; and for the American
Soybean Association, John Deere, and local John Deere dealer to
utilize their name, farm location, likeness, and/or recorded
testimonials for news, promotion and/or advertising purposes without
further compensation.
Prize winners are responsible for
any applicable state or federal tax liabilities that may result from
claiming their prize. Prize winners are responsible for protecting
the value of the equipment through reasonable care and insurance
coverage against all perils. Prize winners are responsible for
providing an IBM-compatible personal computer that has the minimum
resources necessary to run the software components of the precision
ag system.
Winners will be announced at the Commodity Classic in Tampa, Florida, on
March 1 or 2, 2007; via a U.S. domestic news release issued by the
American Soybean Association on March 1 or 2, 2007; posted in the
Commodity Classic trade show booths of John Deere and the American
Soybean Association on March 1 or 2, 2007; and subsequently notified
by mail on March 5, 2007. A John Deere field representative will
then contact each winner on or before March 31, 2007, to discuss and
advise the winner about installation options.
Winners will then be put in contact
with their local John Deere dealer for installation and
industry-leading support for their new precision ag system. Winners
will also gain access to the John Deere AMS website,
http://stellarsupport.deere.com/en_US/, as well
as the use of the Customer Care Center, which is open 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week for technical support.
Employees and immediate family
members of the American Soybean Association, State Soybean
Affiliates and Qualified State Soybean Boards, John Deere, John
Deere Ag Marketing Solutions, John Deere dealers and their
advertising, promotion and public relations agencies are not
eligible to win.
The American Soybean Association
reserves the right to amend these rules as and when it deems
