ASA to Host Food Biotechnology Conference

November 21, 2000… Saint Louis, Missouri . . . . . "From Farm to Table: A Food Biotechnology Conference" will be held in Chicago, Ill. December 5 – 6, 2000. All components of the food industry are encouraged to attend.

At no time in history has an abundant food supply been the center of such controversy. New agricultural technologies offer consumers a healthier, safer food selection. Despite these benefits, misinformation and fear, propagated by activist groups, are putting new pressure on the entire food chain --- from agricultural producers to food manufacturers and retailers.

"From Farm to Table: A Food Biotechnology Conference" will provide you with the information you need to address emerging challenges facing the food industry. Brought to you by America’s farmers, this conference will provide information, strategies and tactics on maintaining consumer confidence, minimizing risks and building stronger partnerships across the food chain.

For additional information or to register for the conference, please call 800/ 688-7692. You may also visit the ASA website, www.amsoy.org

The conference is sponsored by the American Soybean Association, United Soybean Board and Nebraska Soybean Board. Co-sponsors are the Grocery Manufactures of America, National Corn Growers Association, National Cotton Council and National Pork Producers Council.
