ASA Encourages Midwest Growers to Participate in
Syngenta Demo Days
July 16, 2008... Saint Louis, Missouri...
The American Soybean Association (ASA) is encouraging Midwest soybean
producers to participate in one of the10 Syngenta Learning Centers
Demonstration Days scheduled this summer. NK® Brand Soybeans
is sponsoring a special opportunity for growers to become members of the
ASA, and the ASA and Syngenta are working together to provide the latest
production information to growers.
"When growers participate at a Syngenta Learning Centers
Demonstration Day, they will learn new techniques to boost their bottom
line through integrated soybean and corn production on their own farm,"
said Rob Joslin, ASA Vice President and Chairman of ASA’s Membership &
Corporate Relations Committee.
"Growers can also find out how to qualify for a complementary
one-year ASA membership," Joslin added. "The people at Syngenta
recognize the need for farmer involvement in a grassroots soybean policy
organization such as the American Soybean Association. Most farmers do
not realize checkoff funds can not be used for the many policy endeavors
of the ASA."
"Just as ASA works for the best interest of growers in the public
arena, we are working for their best interest in providing new levels of
soybean yield," said Steve Knodle, NK Soybeans, Brand Manager, Syngenta
Seeds, Inc. "Building an integrated soybean program that includes the
right combination of early and in-season pest control options helps
growers meet soybean demand and improve profit potential."
The Syngenta Learning Centers are designed to provide growers an
opportunity to explore new technologies and learn about innovative
approaches to boost profit potential. The program, now in its fifth
year, showcases trials focused on integrated crop inputs under local
farming conditions and practices.
