|
|
Board members, producers, and staff got a taste of all things Washington at the American Soybean Association’s (ASA) First Annual Capital Hill Soy Issues Summit on July 11-12, 2006, in Washington, D.C. The Summit was held in conjunction with the American Soybean Association (ASA) Board of Directors Meeting. The Summit began on Tuesday afternoon with a welcome address by ASA President Rick Ostlie, followed by an election and political overview by renown political pundit Charlie Cook. Following Cook, presentations were made by Senator Jim Talent (R-MO) on U.S. Energy Policy, and Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman, Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) on the Farm Bill and World Trade Organization (WTO) talks. Tuesday evening, participants attended ASA’s Annual Soy Industry Congressional Reception on the Hill. |
