Application Guidelines

  • There is no age limit for participation, however growers must be 21 years or older to apply and be selected.

  • Any soybean grower may apply for the Young Leader program, however selected participants are required to have a current
    state soybean association/ASA membership to take part in the program.

  • Applicants should be interested in pursuing leadership roles within the soybean industry.

  • Spouses do not have to be employed on the farm to participate in this program.

  • Single growers may also apply to the program.

  • No babies or children may attend any Young Leader program activities.

  • If an applicant is newly elected or in his/her first year of service on their State Association Board of Directors they are eligible
    to apply, however this program is not designed for Board members with service years beyond the first year.

Please Note: To be eligible for this program, you must commit to attending both phases of training Dec. 6-9, 2009, Johnston, IA and March 2-6, 2010, Anaheim, California
