Conservation Legacy Awards Eligibility
Requirements
●
All U.S. soybean farmers are eligible to
enter
● Applicants do not need to be an ASA member to
apply. (Winners will
receive a complimentary one-year membership or
a one-year extension
if currently a member.)
Selection Criteria
Entries will be evaluated
based on:
● Cropland management practices (50%)
● Farmstead protection (30%)
● Conservation and environmental management
(20%)
Growers using
reduced-tillage systems, such as no-till, strip-till, minimum-till or
other conservation practices are encouraged to submit an application.
Entries that showcase management practices that are both
environmentally friendly and profitable will be eligible.
Selection Process
Through the Conservation
Awards program:

A national selection committee composed of
soybean farmers, conservationists
and natural resource professionals
will evaluate all nominations
●
Selection will be based on each farmer’s
environmental and economic program
●
Three regional winners will be selected
for their stewardship efforts, and a
national winner will be chosen
from among the three
The Award
Winners will receive:

Expense-paid trip to Commodity Classic
(includes Classic registration for two,
hotel,
airfare and
miscellaneous costs) for three regional winners and a
spouse/guest
March 1-3, 2012 in Nashville, TN

Recognition at ASA Awards Banquet
●
Feature story highlighting each winner’s
conservation efforts in Corn & Soybean
Digest, ASA Today newsletter
and ASA Weekly Leader Letter
