Ray Gaesser, a soybean producer from Corning, Iowa, is Vice President of the American Soybean Association (ASA). He currently serves on the Public Affairs Committee, Audit Committee and Strategic Planning Committee. He has served as Chairman of ASA's Membership & Corporate Relations Committee, and on the Finance Committee, Trade Policy & International Affairs Committee, and as Chair of the Audit Committee and Public Affairs Committee.

A member of the Iowa Soybean Association since the 1980s, Gaesser was President of his state association in 2007-2008. Gaesser is part of the Iowa Department of Economic Development's Agriculture Products Advisory Committee and also writes an article each year about current agricultural events for the KMA Radio magazine. He belongs to the Growth Energy group effort to educate the public about the advantages of producing food and fuel.

Gaesser operates a 5,800-acre farm that raises 2,900 acres of soybeans and 2,900 acres of corn.

Gaesser's hobbies include walking a couple miles each day, rock 'n' roll music and vacationing with family and friends.

The American Soybean Association is a national, not-for-profit, grassroots membership organization that develops and implements policies to increase the profitability of its members and the entire soybean industry.

The American Soybean Association was founded in 1920.
