Farm Description: This is our harvest crew the fall of 2009.
It is a father-son operation.
Dale was rear-ended in an auto accident in August and had a broken
C-2 Vertebrae—the reason for the halo. Doug fell from a ladder on
September 6 and broke both bones in his left leg—the reason for the
crutches. Doug was able to drive the combine, Jamie drove tandem and semi
hauling, and Dale was able to unload at the bin site. Virginia,
alias Grandma (not in picture), kept the girls
part time (the rest of the time they were in car seats in cabs),
fixed food and ran errands. Due to the slow pace of harvest we were able
to finish in line with most everyone else.
