Farm Description: I have been farming for 60 years. I farmed with
my Dad and brother until 1962, when I purchased my first farm. It was 150
acres. Along the way I purchased other farms and have implemented
conservation practices on all of them. In 1983 I purchased the farm where
we presently live. It is my desire to do everything I can to be
environmentally friendly. I am very proud to say that through the years my
farm has been considered a model farm in this part of Kentucky. I farmed
all my life because I had to. Now that I am nearly 78 years old, I farm
because I want to, and will continue to do so as long as I am able to get
in and out of these tractors and combines. With the support of the Good
Lord and a good wife, I continue to farm where I live – without hired
labor! – because I thoroughly enjoy what I am doing.
