Farm Description: Paul is a fourth generation farmer on the Anderson family farm in Barsness Township of Pope County (Minnesota). The land has been in the Anderson family since it was purchased in 1877 by Paul's great-grandfather, John Anderson, who passed it to his son, Henry Anderson, in 1909. Paul's father, Maurice Anderson, acquired the land in 1957 and Paul bought it in 1995. Originally Paul operated a beef and grain farm but has since switched to growing only corn, soybeans and wheat on his 800 acres. He and his wife, Faith, have three grown children. Their oldest son, Luke, from St. Cloud, Minnesota, assists with the planting and harvesting of crops on a part-time basis. Paul and Faith live in the 100-year-old home built by Paul's grandparents. In addition to his farm operation, Paul currently serves in the Minnesota State Legislature, representing Pope County and parts of two others in Central Minnesota.
